Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the restoration process and what does it look like?
Usually, your first contact will be with an insurance adjuster who will be able to confirm your coverage of the loss. Depending on the type and scope of damage, repair times can vary. Once the full extent of the damage has been surveyed, we will make emergency remediation efforts to prepare the area for restoration. This process usually takes 3-7 days.
Once this process is complete, we or your adjuster will then determine the scope of repairs. And submit a cost estimate for approval to your insurance company. This process usually begins 10-15 days from the time of the loss. Once Universal has received authorization from your adjuster, we will then schedule you for restoration. At this point, you can choose your replacement flooring, paint colours, and discuss any changes that you may wish to make.
Many of losses that we deal with are related to seasonal weather patterns that can cause a rush of claims. These situations can cause small delays in the time it takes to complete your claim. If you find yourself in this situation, rest assured that Universal and your insurance provider are working hard to complete your claim as quickly and efficiently as possible.
